UK & Canadian partnership opportunities for all corners of the cosmetics industry

UK & Canadian partnership opportunities for all corners of the cosmetics industry

Calling beauty and cosmetic industry to attend a webinar on partnership opportunities with Canada & UK.

At the end of March 2021, the UK and Canada ratified the UK Canada Trade Continuity Agreement following Brexit.

As members of the Commonwealth, the UK and Canada have longstanding political, cultural and business ties.

The value of all Canadian traded goods sent to the UK is about $18 billion (2020) and UK goods exported to Canada $6.25 billion (2019 Statista). They also reported that £376.5 million in value of cosmetics goods were exported from the UK to North America.

As fellow founders and board members of the Global Cosmetics Cluster, we are delighted to collaborate on this webinar to highlight partnership opportunities for the cosmetics industry, whether it be for finished products, raw material development, or research and innovation.

Practical advice and insights will be offered on the routes to market in Canada, as well as highlighting investment opportunities. In addition to marine resources, such as seaweed, Canada has great potential for providing upcycled ingredient raw materials such as pumpkins, Christmas trees and juicing by- products.

The upcycling trend is also gaining momentum in the UK, with by-products from the food industry, such as coffee grounds, in the spotlight and innovative new products, such as Gin TONIQ® offered by Full Circle, who are our featured ‘case study’.

Programme:

1. Introduction to CCUK, the Canadian Cluster and the Global Cosmetics Cluster (GCC) by Jane Evison (CCUK) and Margarita Sidorova (Canadian Cosmetics Cluster)

2. UK Department for International Trade (DIT) presentation about how they can support companies in international trade, by Alastair Gardner
