Colombia: the only Latin American country at Cosmetic 360

Colombia will be the only latin american country at Cosmetic 360, showcasing a portfolio of high-quality natural ingredients for the international cosmetic industry.

From October 14th to 18th, 2024, a delegation of Colombian companies specializing in these valuable ingredients will participate in Cosmetic 360 Week and Cosmetic 360 in Paris. 

This prestigious event is an international platform for innovation in cosmetics, and Colombia will be the only Latin American country represented, positioning itself as a key player in this sector. 

The Colombian delegation will include representatives from the Colombian Chambers of Commerce, Swisscontact, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia, Biointropic, and leading natural ingredient companies such as Bioingred Tech, Bioingredientes Amazónicos, Colorquímica, Ecoflora, Green Andina Colombia, G&M Química, Kahai, Laboratorios Phitother and Levapan. This presence not only highlights Colombia’s diversity and the richness of its natural resources but also underscores the country’s commitment to sustainable development and innovation in the cosmetic industry. 

Colombia, recognized as one of the 17 megadiverse countries in the world, contributes unique ingredients to the global market, such as jagua, cacay, açaí, achiote, sacha inchi, turmeric, passion fruit, wax laurel, buriti (canangucha), and chontaduro. These ingredients come from various regions of the country, such as the Amazon, Chocó, the Andes, the Orinoquía, and the coastal regions of the Caribbean and the Pacific, reflecting Colombia's immense natural wealth and diversity. Each of these areas contributes its own microclimate and ecosystem, enabling the cultivation of high-quality ingredients that align with global trends in sustainability and natural cosmetics. 

These ingredients offer exceptional properties that are utilized in high-quality cosmetic products, from sunscreens to anti-aging serums, highlighting the versatility and potential of Colombia's biodiversity

Jagua: Traditionally used by indigenous communities as a natural dye, it is employed in cosmetics as a colorant in makeup and skincare products. 

Cacay: Known for its oil rich in vitamin E and retinol, it is valued for its anti-aging and regenerative properties, making it key in creams and serums. 

Açaí: An Amazonian fruit with high antioxidant content, it is used to combat signs of aging and revitalize the skin. 

Achiote: Its seeds, rich in bixina, are used as a colorant in makeup and sunscreens, thanks to their antioxidant properties. 

Sacha Inchi: An Amazonian plant rich in omega-3 and proteins, ideal for hair and skincare products due to its hydrating and nourishing properties. 

Turmeric: With anti-inflammatory action, it is used in products aimed at improving skin tone and combating inflammation. 

Passion Fruit: Rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, it is appreciated for its calming and revitalizing properties in moisturizers and serums. 

Wax Laurel: Produces a natural wax used in balms, creams, and personal care products. 

Buriti (Canangucha): An Amazonian fruit rich in beta-carotene, used in oils to maintain hydration and protect skin and hair.
