Webinar - Bringing Psychodermatology into the Realm of Personal Care

The evolving field of psychodermatology, which explores intricate connections between the mind and skin conditions, is gaining recognition as a new branch of dermatology. Our webinar aims to revisit and contextualise this theme, emphasising its significance in both medical and cosmetic domains.

Our event will explore the background in the UK and the US, new brand approach and future innovations, providing the participants with understanding of how psychological factors impact skin health and vice versa.

Objectives

  1. Highlight the Importance of Psychodermatology: Established as a legitimate and critical area of dermatology.

  2. Contextualise in Personal Care and Beauty: Showcase how psychodermatology can be applied in the cosmetic space.

  3. Explore the Skin - Brain Connection: Delve into the neurobiological aspects of skin health, the psychological impacts of skin conditions and individual narratives around this theme.

  4. Promote Credibility and Collaboration: Form an expert group to raise credibility of this category: promote innovative quality research and clinical studies resulting in peer reviewed publications on the skin brain axis, bioactivity of neurocosmetic ingredients and language in this space. Multi-disciplinary work with dermatologists, psychologists, and the skincare industry.

This webinar builds on our past project work and aims to generate wider interest in psychodermatology and the skin - brain - beauty axis. It also provides an on-going platform for experts to share their knowledge and experiences and to engage in forming an Expert Interest Group led by Dr Steventon.
